Kirsten Bloom Allen

Having danced with the Sacramento Ballet for 15 years, I have had the wonderful gift of working with Carinne on so many great ballets both onstage and for countless hours in the rehearsal studio.  Her dedication to ballet is endless and driven by a sincere love of the art form.  In the studio Carinne would teach us not only the steps but the meaning behind the movement.  She would give each dancer a flood of information derived from extensive research, experience, and her incredible strive to push us all further than we ever thought we could go.  Through this wonderful process we would, as dancers, find ourselves achieving more than than we thought we were capable of- jumping higher or turning more or simply diving deeper inside ourselves to discover the artist within.  Carinne's brilliance is inspiring to all around her.  I am so proud to have been one of her dancers and feel extraordinarily privileged to have had 15 years to work with her.

Carinne’s impact on me as a dancer is profound. When I watch videos of myself performing, I can always tell if the video is pre-Carinne or post-Carinne because of the difference in the way that I approached my technique after I began working with her. With her eagle eyes, Carinne made us aware of details that helped us take the next step in refining our dancing. When I watch the dancers in the company now, I can see her influence in the way that they work. They reflect her commitment, work ethic, and passion for the art form.
On a different note, I must say that there is no one in the history of the world that can create a more efficient and intricate rehearsal schedule than Carinne!!!
